Purpose and values

Our purpose is to bring you the joy of a better experience

We believe that people deserve better. Sky was founded on a simple but powerful idea: choice. In 1989, the UK had four TV channels. People were hungry for more. So we beamed non-stop sport, movies, drama, comedy, news and more into millions of people’s homes and lives. Then we moved into mobile and broadband, to offer better value. We haven’t stood still since. Every big Sky innovation has given people an exciting new alternative.

Today, we live in a world of almost limitless choice and better means something new.  Our purpose is to bring you the joy of a better experience. That means we’re always thinking beyond what exists, to what could be. We’re always finding new ways to make every product, every service and every interaction with Sky the best it can be. Our purpose shapes how we show up as a brand, how we look after our customers, how our products work and how we work together to create a great culture at Sky.

Our values

Our values shape the way we do things, and the culture we share. They reflect what matters most to us, and you’ll see them in action through our work, every day.

Welcoming

We are collaborative and respectful, creating a sense of belonging and opportunity for everyone. That means we show up in a way that’s inclusive by nature, we play as one team, and we never stop learning.

Creative

We are ambitious and innovative, challenging the status quo to raise the bar on quality for customers. That means we are curious, we’re ambitious, and we embrace challenge.

Simplifying

We bring clarity, cut through noise and remove obstacles. That means we work to prioritise ruthlessly, reduce complexity and make things better.

Doing the right thing

We are fair and act with integrity, each one of us taking responsibility. That means we own it, and act with care.
