Mark Austin presents the News Hour with Mark Austin from 5-7pm weekdays on Sky News. He regularly presents on location from some of the world’s most significant stories including the Israel-Gaza border, Iraq, Libya, Haiti, Nepal, Mogadishu, Afghanistan and Washington. 

Before joining Sky in 2018, Mark spent 35 years reporting and presenting for ITV News and the BBC, having started his career in local newspapers. He was Senior Correspondent for ITV News, as well as a foreign correspondent based in Africa and Asia. 

Mark’s achievements have been acknowledged with industry awards including winning five BAFTAs; an International Emmy for his reporting of the devastating floods in Mozambique, a Golden Nymph for covering the war in Kosovo, a Gold Medal at the Film & Television Festival of New York for his coverage of the Bosnian war, as well as RTS Presenter of the Year in 2014 and 2015.

Anna Botting hosts Sky News at Ten and the evening’s popular Press Preview.

She’s worked at Sky for nearly 30 years. Outside the studio, she recently presented from Buckingham Palace during the Coronation of King Charles III and from Westminster Abbey, for the Funeral of The Queen. 

Her journalism has taken her around the world: most recently to Israel after the October 7th Hamas attacks and the war on Gaza; to Miami for the first court appearance of Donald Trump and to the West Coast of the US for Obama's first election victory in 2008.  

Anna also covered the conflicts in Ukraine, Iraq and Libya; the Japanese tsunami and Fukushima nuclear disaster; the disappearance of Madeleine McCann from Portugal; and, for a TV first, in ‘Deep Ocean Live’ from the Aldabra Atoll in the Indian Ocean, the first live programme broadcast from a submersible, hundreds of feet down. 

Gillian presents Sky News at Ten and hosts the widely watched Press Preview and News Review. She has more than 30 years of broadcast experience starting her career with the BBC in Manchester before working as a reporter and newsreader on BBC Radio 1, the BBC One and Six O’clock News, Newsnight and the Holiday programme. Gillian also presented the news on BBC Breakfast, BBC London and worked as a presenter for BBC News 24. 

Gillian played a major role in coverage of the aftermath of the 2004 Asian Tsunami, and has reported from locations across the globe including Northern Ireland, South America and Africa. 

Gillian covered the Queen's funeral, the wedding of Prince William and Catherine Middleton, Margaret Thatcher's funeral and the death of Nelson Mandela. 

In 2016 and 2020 she reported from Washington DC and New York on the US presidential elections and has covered every UK general election since 2001. Gillian has reported from the war in Ukraine and most recently broke the story of the failed assassination attempt on Donald Trump.

Martha is US correspondent, reporting across North America. In her time reporting in the States, she has covered stories including the attempted assassination of Donald Trump, the US withdrawal from Afghanistan, the Baltimore bridge collapse and the wildfires which ravaged the Hawaiian island of Maui. 

She has investigated whether head injuries suffered on the American football field have caused permanent brain damage in mass killers. Martha has also won a New York Film Festival award for her work, including an investigation into residential schools for so called “troubled teens” and a special interview with Paris Hilton. 

She was previously sports correspondent, breaking exclusive stories around athlete welfare, doping and corruption. She was also winner of the RTS Young Talent of the Year award.

Before joining Sky, Martha was chief sport reporter at The Guardian, the first woman ever to hold that role on Fleet Street, and before that, a correspondent at the Daily Mail. 

She was named sport journalist of the year at the British Press Awards, and winner of scoop of the year at the Sport Journalists' Association Awards. 

James is a US correspondent, reporting across North America.  Before moving to Washington DC, he was Sky News Scotland bureau chief and covered a range of stories at home and abroad, including the 1998 World Cup, 2014 independence referendum and controversies surrounding Donald Trump and his golf courses in Aberdeenshire.

James was part of the Sky News team that won a BAFTA for coverage of the Glasgow Airport terrorist attack in 2007. His final job in Scotland before moving to the US was coverage of the death of Queen Elizabeth II at Balmoral in September 2022. 

This will be James’ second US election, having been seconded to the Washington team for the vote in 2020.  Since being posted permanently to the United States, he has reported on a range of stories, including the demise of Death Row in California, disputes over Native American land and the pursuit of an apology for the mistreatment of British Home Children in Canada.

James anchored Sky’s coverage of Donald Trump’s criminal conviction in New York.

James began his career in 1987 at Metro Radio in Newcastle-Upon-Tyne as a news and sports reporter. He joined Independent Radio News in London in 1989, for whom he covered a range of stories, domestic and international, including the first Gulf War. Subsequently, James was the Chief Reporter for Scottish Television before joining Sky News. 

Mark is US correspondent, reporting from across the United States on a range of stories.

Through the Biden-Harris Presidency, Mark has reported from the White House on the geopolitical events which have shaped the world.  And from states across America he tells the stories of the people whose lives are shaped by the decisions made in Washington. 

2024 will be Mark's third US election. He covered both the 2016 and 2020 campaigns from the key swing state of Pennsylvania. In 2023 he won the Gold Award for Best News Correspondent at the New York Festivals TV & Film Awards.

Mark’s global experience is built from nearly two decades living and working around the world. Before moving to Washington DC he was based in Jerusalem as Middle East correspondent, covering conflicts and their consequences across the region.

Between 2015 and 2019 he was Europe correspondent, reporting extensively from across the continent on Brexit, national elections and the migrant crisis with stories that formed a central part of Sky's Emmy award-winning coverage. Before Brussels, Mark was based in Beijing as Asia correspondent for three years where his storytelling reflected the rise to power of Xi Jinping, a leader now set to dominate China for years to come. His coverage from North Korea was the first-ever live international broadcasts from outside locations around the capital Pyongyang.

In 2014, Mark was nominated for Royal Television Society journalist of the year.

Before Sky, Mark worked as a producer for the US broadcaster ABC News in London and Baghdad. 

Lewis Goodall is Analysis & Investigations Editor at Global and co-presenter of The News Agents podcast with Emily Maitlis and Jon Sopel.

Lewis is an effective and engaging storyteller who has worked across the BBC producing and presenting documentaries and appearing on news output across the corporation’s platforms covering policy, government and economics. He also has experience working as a Sky News political correspondent, writing questions for University Challenge and working in the United States Congress as an intern for Representative Diana DeGette of Colorado.

After three years at Sky Lewis returned to the BBC as Policy Editor for Newsnight where he also played an increasing role in the corporation’s election coverage. He has covered a wide range of subjects including the war in Ukraine and the resulting refugee crisis, building safety post-Grenfell and the schools exam crisis in the summer of 2020, for which he was nominated for the Orwell Prize.

In September 2022 Lewis joined Global as co-presented of a new podcast, The News Agents, with Emily Maitlis and Jon Sopel as well as being Analysis & Investigations Editor with a remit to work on video journalism, reporting breaking stories and producing content for podcasts and social channels on LBC.
