Let the games begin! Sky Kids app gets brand-new games section

Thursday 19 October 2017

A whole host of exciting games have landed on the Sky Kids app, bringing kids even more entertainment from their favourite characters, including SpongeBob SquarePants, Peppa Pig and Ben 10.

Already packed with shows from Boomerang, Cartoon Network, Nickelodeon, Nicktoons, Nick Jr and Baby TV, little ones can now play chess with the help of SpongeBob, test their memory with Peppa and have a go at target practice with Henry Danger.

What’s more, new games are on the way from favourites like The Amazing World of Gumball, Scooby-Doo, Adventure Time and our very own Sky Kids Art Studio full of creative tools, arty ideas and lots of virtual glitter.  Adding to the fun will also be a range of games featuring the Sky Buddies, characters which live on the app and allow parents to create personalised, age tailored profiles for their kids.

Free to Sky customers*, the Sky Kids app is full to the brim with fun. There are over 4,500 episodes to watch on the app, which has been designed with kids in mind, making it both entertaining and safe for them to use. Shows include Sky Original Production Big Cats: Wild Files and Aliens Love Underpants And…, as well as YouTube hits like Little Baby Bum and popular kids’ favourites such as Boomerang’s Scooby-Doo.

The app offers a fun and safe way for children to play games and watch shows in a family friendly environment, with no adverts. Each child can have an age profile set, so they can only access the content that’s right for them and Sleep Mode lets adults choose when the app will automatically switch off. These settings build on the peace of mind that Sky customers already get from a range of enhanced security features such as Sky Broadband Shield, which lets customers filter which websites are seen in their home and protects against malware and phishing, and parental controls on their TV to pin protect access to certain content.

Customers with the Sky Kids app can download games to play offline and, if they have Sky Go Extra/Multiscreen, they can download shows too. So kids are entertained even when there’s no Wi-Fi, and traffic jams can be a whole lot more enjoyable.

Some of the new games include:

  • SpongeBob Chess from Nicktoons
  • Peppa Pig Memory Game from Nick Jr
  • Bubble Guppies Popathon from Nick Jr
  • Tulli Missing Shapes from Baby TV
  • Henry Danger Target Practice from Nickelodeon
  • Ben 10 Diamondhead Shoot from Cartoon Network
  • The Loud House Food Fight from Nickelodeon

Lucy Murphy, head of kids content, Sky, said: “Children and parents have been loving the Sky Kids app, with over half a million registering to use it since it launched last year. It’s a great way to keep kids entertained, and now with new games to play and more being added every month, they have another fun way to dive into the worlds of their favourite characters. And as mums and dads know that it’s a safe and secure environment, everyone’s happy.”

With a record-breaking  52m downloads of kids’ content during the month of August, Sky is home to some of the most-watched kids’ shows in the UK and Ireland.
