Academy Award® nominated short MAGGIE SIMPSON IN “THE LONGEST DAYCARE” comes to Sky 3D
TX: 17 February on Sky 3D and Sky 1 HD
THE SIMPSONS will join Sky 3D for the first time ever this February, with the Academy Award® nominated short film MAGGIE SIMPSON IN “THE LONGEST DAYCARE”. Sky 3D will be the only place Sky customers can see the 3D broadcast as the short airs on 17th February, 2013. The 2D version will also be shown on Sky 1 HD.
MAGGIE SIMPSON IN “THE LONGEST DAYCARE” has scored an Academy Award® nomination for Best Animated Short. The short tells the story of Maggie Simpson as she spends a day at the Ayn Rand Daycare Centre where she is diagnosed at an average intelligence level. Longing to be grouped with the gifted children, Maggie finds her destiny by rescuing a lonely cocoon from Baby Gerald, who is busy smooshing butterflies.
The dialogue-free four minute feature was directed by David Silverman (The Simpsons, The Simpsons Movie, Monsters, Inc) and written by THE SIMPSONS writers James L. Brooks, Matt Groening, Al Jean, David Mirkin, Joel H. Cohen and Michael Price.
