Boardwalk Empire returns to Sky Atlantic for its fifth and final series

The fifth season premieres on Saturday 13th September at 9pm
Box Sets of Seasons 1- 4 available On Demand from 1st September
HBO’s multiple award-winning drama series, BOARDWALK EMPIRE, will return exclusively to Sky Atlantic HD on Saturday 13th September at 9pm. Customers will also be able to catch up on Seasons 1 – 4 On Demand from Monday 1st September.

Atlantic City, 1931: As the country struggles to cope with theGreat Depression and the end of Prohibition looms, Nucky Thompson (GoldenGlobe® winner and Emmy® nominee Steve Buscemi) looks tolegitimise himself through alliances with liquor producers, while rivalsLucky Luciano (Vincent Piazza) and Meyer Lansky (Anatol Yusef)seek to consolidate their power in the wake of Arnold Rothstein’s deathand eliminate all competition – by any means necessary.

In the first episode of the fifth season, Nucky is awash in memories frompier-boy days growing up in 1884 Atlantic City, when the young Nucky (Nolan Lyons)caught the eye of the Commodore (John Ellison Conlee.)In 1931 Cuba, Nucky joins Sally Wheet (Patricia Arquette)and, with a US Senator in tow, forges ties with Bacardi Rum in hopes ofProhibition’s repeal in the US. Working on Wall Street, Margaret (Kelly Macdonald)finds herself in the hot seat when her boss, facing an internal investigation,decides his own future. Down but never out, Chalky (Michael Kenneth Williams)seizes an opportunity to extricate himself from a difficult situation.In New York, Lucky Luciano sets in motion a bold plan that reverberatesall the way to Nucky in Cuba.

BOARDWALK EMPIRE also stars Michael Shannon asformer Federal Agent Nelson Van Alden, caught up in gangland conflicts; Shea Whigham asNucky’s brother Eli, who went underground after killing a federal agent, Stephen Graham asgangster Al Capone, Paul Sparks as gangster Mickey Doyle, Michael Kenneth Williams asNucky’s former ally Chalky White, Gretchen Mol as Gillian,now battling her demons; and Jeffrey Wright as ValentinNarcisse, Chalky’s nemesis.

New cast members for season five include Jim True-Frost ascrimefighter Eliot Ness, Matt Letscher as wealthy, politicallyconnected businessman Joseph Kennedy, Giampiero Judica asSalvatore Maranzano, the ‘boss of all bosses,’ and Louis Cancelmi asCapone enforcer Mike D’Angelo.

BOARDWALK EMPIRE is created by Terence Winter,who also serves as executive producer alongside Martin Scorsese, Mark Wahlberg, Stephen Levinson, Tim Van Patten and Howard Korder.

BOARDWALK EMPIRE’s fifth season will premiere on Saturday 13th September at 9pm, exclusive to Sky Atlantic HD. Customers will also be able to watch BOARDWALK EMPIRE from the very beginning with TV Box Sets of Seasons 1- 4 available On Demand from Monday 1st September.
