First look pictures are released of the acclaimed cast from Sky Living’s much anticipated supernatural drama The Enfield Haunting. The stellar cast comprising of, Timothy Spall, Juliet Stevenson, and Matthew Macfadyen are joined by Olivier Award® winning young actress Eleanor Worthington-Cox (Matilda the Musical) in the lead role of Janet Hodgson.

The Enfield Haunting is a three-part dramatisation of the terrifying and bizarre events that took place at an ordinary house in Enfield during the autumn of 1977 and demonstrates Sky Living’s commitment to bringing its customers grown up, quality, addictive drama.   Award-winning actor Timothy Spall, tipped to scoop up more accolades for his role in the smash-hit film Mr Turner, plays Maurice Grosse, a paranormal researcher who strikes up a connection with Janet, when he investigates the strange happenings at the Hodgson family home.

Matthew Macfadyen’s character, Guy Lyon Playfair, is Grosse’s sceptical co-investigator. Playfair’s book on the happenings, ‘This House is Haunted’, has been adapted to form the basis of the drama which also draws from extensive documentation, recordings and witness statements. Juliet Stevenson plays Grosse’s wife who is struggling to come to terms with his all-encompassing obsession with his investigation.

Eleanor Worthington-Cox plays Janet, the youngest daughter of Mrs Hodgson played by British actress Rosie Cavaliero (Prey) who also joins the cast. Along with Janet’s siblings Margaret and Billy, played by Fern Deacon and Elliot Kerley, they complete the family who were terrorised by a malevolent unseen force in their home for over two years.   Eleanor shot to fame in 2012 when she became the youngest ever recipient of the Laurence Olivier Award® for her shared role of Matilda at the Cambridge Theatre in London.

Eleanor Worthington-Cox comments “Working on The Enfield Haunting has been an amazing experience. The role has been both challenging and rewarding. I’ve got to work with so many fantastic actors like Timothy, Matthew, Juliet and Rosie and I’ve worked with an amazing production team. I can’t wait for it to be on Sky Living in the spring.”

The Enfield Haunting is directed by Kristoffer Nyholm (The Killing) and will premiere in Spring 2015 on Sky Living.
