Hit series Trollied serves customers right with a third series from Thursday 22nd August 9pm Sky1 HD

Thursday 8 August 2013

Trollied returns to Sky1 HD on 22nd August, with 13 episodes and a Christmas special, picking up with the lives of the workers of Valco, a fictional budget supermarket in the North West. Much loved returning characters and new additions man the tills and stock the aisles and, as egos clash, tensions simmer and love blossoms, a day at Valco is anything but ordinary. Sky customers will be able to see the first episode in advance through Sky’s On Demand service from 16th August.

The new series brings the arrival of Richard France (Chris Geere), who is Valco's new Head of Strategy. He's been sent to modernise the store and the Warrington branch is his guinea pig. Young, dynamic, unconventional and somewhat eccentric, France's ideas clash with Gavin's (Jason Watkins) safe and by the book approach and soon the store becomes unrecognisable to Gavin. As France also starts to empower Julie (Jane Horrocks), it’s clear that he's trying to push Gavin out.

To add to Gavin's woes, Anna, his exuberant new Spanish girlfriend (Elizabeth Bower), takes a job at Valco to be close to him, much to Julie’s dismay.

There’s romance elsewhere in the aisles and not all plain sailing as on/off couple Katie and Kieran are trying to date whilst he's in the middle of a messy divorce. Meanwhile, head butcher Andy (Mark Addy), bumps into an old flame, his only one true love and reveals a softer side.  Elsewhere in the store, Colin (Carl Rice) and Lisa (Lorraine Cheshire) are continuing their dysfunctional relationship after a couple of set backs and Sue (Bev Rudd) returns from maternity leave to uncover that there may be more than meets the eye with Linda’s (Faye McKeever) new flame.

The cast of Trollied comprises; BAFTA® and Golden Globe® nominee Jane Horrocks (The Road to Coronation Street, Absolutely Fabulous), Mark Addy (The Full Monty, Game of Thrones), Jason Watkins (Being Human, Lark Rise to Candleford), Chris Geere (Waterloo Road) Rita May (Coronation Street, Drop Dead Gorgeous). They are joined by Joel Fry (Twenty Twelve), Nick Blood (Material Girl, Combat Kids), Chanel Cresswell (This is England), Carl Rice (Shameless, Benidorm), Beverly Rudd (Coronation Street), Faye McKeever (Shameless) and Lorraine Cheshire (Life on Mars, Early Doors).

Trollied Season 3 will launch on Sky 1 HD on the 22nd August at 9pm and will be available on the move on Sky Go. As part of an all new comedy line-up, viewers can also enjoy Chickens from 9.30pm and another opportunity to see Common Ground at 10pm.
