Matt Groening's THE SIMPSONS and FUTURAMA return to Sky 1 HD
Sky 1 HD’s favourite animated series return to Sky 1 HD for their 24th and 8th seasons
Fan favourites THE SIMPSONS and FUTURAMA are back on Sky 1 HD this March with brand new seasons.
FUTURAMA orbits back into Sky 1 HD’s comedy Fridays on 29th March. The out-there animation landed on the small screen way back in 1999 and the show hasn’t looked back as it fuels up for an eighth season.
There is plenty to look forward to with rib-ticklingly ridiculous plots that swing from the silly to the even sillier, involving a self-replicating Bender, Fry reintroducing the common cold and an extra-terrestrial in possession of gender-bending powers.
FUTURAMA is no slouch on the guest star front(ier) either, with appearances from Dan Castellaneta, who provides the 'D'oh!-cet' tones of Homer, Tom 'SpongeBob Squarepants' Kenny, Buzz Aldrin and Stephen Hawking.
24th March marks the start of the 24th season of THE SIMPSONS. Back in its Sunday night slot and having recently celebrated its 500th episode, you’d forgive THE SIMPSONS team if they rested on their laurels for a bit. But tightening the grip on its title as the longest-running scripted show in TV history instead, the cartoon classic looks forward to hitting more milestones and heads into another brand new season. Homer and the gang will be joined by scores of stars, the shiniest being pop phenomenon Justin Bieber, funny lady Tina Fey, comedian Steve Carrell and the UK’s very own Benedict Cumberbatch.
In the premiere, Moonshine River, Bart is reunited with The One That Got Away, following his heart all the way to New York to look for long-lost love Mary Spuckler, voiced by the adorkable Zooey Deschanel. Further in the season, Madge ponders the possibility of having another baby, much to Homie’s surprise/shock/horror, Lisa is bitten by the gambling bug and becomes addicted to online poker, and alarm bells ring when Grampa escapes the retirement home.
