Modern Family returns to Sky 1 HD for a fifth season of award-winning comedy

Friday 31 January 2014

Seasons 1-4 will be available to Sky customers On Demand and through NOW TV

Sky1 HD’s much-lovedcomedy series MODERN FAMILY will return for its fifth season from Monday 17 February at 8pm, with box sets for Seasons 1-4 made available On Demand and through NOW TV from Saturday 1 February.

With reams of critical acclaim and multiple awards to its name including an Outstanding Comedy Series win at 2013’s Primetime Emmy awards, MODERN FAMILY is officially one of the finest comedies on TV. Season Five sees former Saturday Night Live scribe Emily Spivey join the writing team, while a wedding could be on the cards for Mitch and Cam following the US's change in gay marriage law.

The brand new season will open with a double bill. In the first half of the hour, Suddenly, Last Summer, the family is in the throes of summer activities: Phil (Emmy® award winner Ty Burrell) and Claire (Emmy® award winner Julie Bowen) are trying to orchestrate a kid-free week by coordinating Luke's (Nolan Gould) camp with Haley's (Sarah Hyland) beach trip and Alex's (Ariel Winter) volunteering excursion; Jay (Ed O’Neill) and Gloria (Sofia Vergara) are getting Manny (Rico Rodriguez) ready for his first solo trip back to Colombia; and Mitch (Jesse Tyler Ferguson) and Cam (Emmy® award winner Eric Stonestreet) make it a summer to remember.

In the second half-hour, First Days, Luke and Manny have their first day at high school, which proves to be harder for Phil and Gloria than for the boys. Elsewhere, Claire makes her big return to the workforce at Jay’s closet company and is a little rusty on her first day, and Cam starts a new substituting gig at the high school, leaving Mitch to try to juggle Lily’s (Aubrey Anderson-Emmons) first day in 1st grade and a very important meeting at work.

MODERN FAMILY SEASON 5 returns exclusively to Sky 1 HD with a double bill on Monday 17 February at 8pm on Sky and NOW TV.

Seasons 1-4 will be available On Demand, via Sky Go and on NOW TV from Saturday 1 February
