New mystery series FROM set to launch on Sky Sci-Fi
As fiction fans brace themselves for the channel rebrand of Syfy to Sky Sci-Fi on July 26, it has been announced today that series FROM, will hit screens on launch day for the very first time in the UK.
Brought to viewers by producer John Griffin and exec produced by LOST creators, Jack Bender and Jeff Pinkner, those at home will journey into the unknown with a brand-new series of twists and turns, starring Harold Perrineau (LOST), Catalina Sandino Moreno (A Most Violent Year) and Eion Bailey (Band of Brothers).
The 10-episode series unravels the mystery of a nightmarish town that traps all who enter. Sci-fi watchers can expect to see unwilling residents fight to keep a sense of normalcy and search for a way out, whilst they battle to survive the threats of the surrounding forest, filled with terrifying creatures that come out when the sun goes down.
Zai Bennett, Managing Director, Content Sky UK and Ireland, said: “We can’t wait for FROM to land on screens just in time for the Sky Sci-Fi channel revamp. The new series is a brilliant addition to the hours of content that will be on offer for science fiction and fantasy fans, and viewers are in for a treat with the mystery that’s about to unfold”.
The contemporary sci-fi horror series, which has already been renewed for a second series, will be available as a boxset release.
FROM was created by John Griffin and is executive produced by Jack Bender, who also directed the first four episodes, Griffin and Jeff Pinkner, as well as Josh Appelbaum, André Nemec and Scott Rosenberg from Midnight Radio, Anthony and Joe Russo and Mike Larocca for AGBO and Lindsay Dunn. Midnight Radio’s Adrienne Erickson serves as co-executive producer. FROM is a co-production between EPIX Studios and MGM International Television Productions and is produced by Midnight Radio and AGBO. The series is distributed by Paramount Global Content Distribution and premiered in the US on EPIX.
FROM will be available to watch on Sky Sci-Fi (EPG 152 Sky) and to binge on demand, as well as on streaming service NOW, from July 26.
