A giant handmade rug featuring British icon, Danny Dyer, lounging in a women's kimono, has become the latest attraction in Essex, appearing on the grounds of a local pub.
With its larger-than-life presence, the huge 3m x 6m rug is part of a prank orchestrated by Dyer’s Mr Bigstuff co-star Ryan Sampson, to mark the launch of their new comedy series which starts on Sky Max and streaming service NOW, Wednesday 17July.
The unexpected sight of the colossal rug had Danny Dyer stunned and in hysterics, as he said: “I love it! I want it! Am I a narcissist if I have it on the floor in my gaff?”
The six-part series set in Loughton Essex, written by Sampson, is about two estranged brothers. It sees him play Glen a nervy perfectionist and ‘carpet salesman’ striving to live the suburban ideal and Lee (Dyer), an alpha male who disrupts his brother’s life when he rocks back into his life with a biscuit tin full of their dad’s ashes. Mr Bigstuff is a relatable, irreverent comedy about brotherhood, manhood and carpet sales in Essex.
