  • A giant handmade rug featuring British icon, Danny Dyer, lounging in a women's kimono, has become the latest attraction in Essex, appearing on the grounds of a local pub.

  • With its larger-than-life presence, the huge 3m x 6m rug is part of a prank orchestrated by Dyer’s Mr Bigstuff co-star Ryan Sampson, to mark the launch of their new comedy series which starts on Sky Max and streaming service NOW, Wednesday 17July.

  • The unexpected sight of the colossal rug had Danny Dyer stunned and in hysterics, as he said: “I love it! I want it! Am I a narcissist if I have it on the floor in my gaff?”

  • The six-part series set in Loughton Essex, written by Sampson, is about two estranged brothers. It sees him play Glen a nervy perfectionist and ‘carpet salesman’ striving to live the suburban ideal and Lee (Dyer), an alpha male who disrupts his brother’s life when he rocks back into his life with a biscuit tin full of their dad’s ashes. Mr Bigstuff is a relatable, irreverent comedy about brotherhood, manhood and carpet sales in Essex.
