Sky 1 serves up brand-new Harry Hill entertainment cooking show

Thursday 7 April 2016

BAFTA Award-winning Harry Hill is joining Sky 1 as the channel dishes up a brand-new British entertainment series, Harry Hill’s Tea-Time.

In a two-series deal, Harry Hill’s Tea-Time will first air on Sky 1 in autumn this year, with a second series following in 2017.

Harry joins a host of much-loved faces on the channel, including James Corden, Ruth Jones, James Nesbitt, Karl Pilkington, Ross Kemp and Lee Mack.

Harry Hill said: “I’m thrilled to be joining Sky's exciting new line-up of entertainment programming and even more excited to know that my programmes will now be broadcast via satellite so that aliens will be able to watch them. They're not going to know what's hit them. I expect an invasion!”

The programme will sit alongside a strong line-up of award-winning entertainment shows on Sky 1, including International Emmy-winning 50 Ways to Kill Your Mammy, Rose d’Or-winning game show Wild Things and BAFTA-winning A League of Their Own.

Harry Hill’s Tea-Time is a fun-filled concoction of one part chat show and one part spoof cookery show, sprinkled with the inimitable Harry Hill, as he casts his comedy eye over the world of cooking and cookery TV programmes.

Celia Taylor, Head of Non-Scripted Commissioning at Sky, said: “On what other show could you learn how to make ‘chicken à la Tom Jones’? Harry Hill’s Tea-Time is a brilliant addition to our slate of non-scripted programming.”

The eight-part series will see a celebrity guest thrown each week into Harry’s crazy kitchen, joining him and his cast of comedy characters, as they take part in a smorgasbord of cooking related chaos.

While Harry teaches his guests how to cook his ridiculous recipes, such as 'mozzarella snowmen' and 'sponge-finger prison', he interviews them in his own unique way. Harry then garnishes the chat with TV show clips, from shows that his guests have appeared in, to comical observations taken from the cookery TV genre.

The little cooking that does get done is interspersed with all the usual comedy time-outs, bonkers games and musical interludes that the public have come to love from a Harry Hill show.

Harry Hill’s Tea-Time is produced by Harry Hill and CPL Productions’ new joint venture, Nit TV. The series has been commissioned by Celia Taylor, Head of Non-Scripted Commissioning and Richard Ackerman, Commissioning Editor, at Sky. Executive Producers are Mobashir Dar, Murray Boland and Danielle Lux for CPL Productions / Nit TV.
