Sky Atlantic’s Gomorrah wins two Golden Nymph Awards at the 55th Monte Carlo Television Festival
Sky Atlantic today celebrates two Golden Nymph Award wins for gritty Italian drama Gomorrah; which was awarded Best International Drama TV Series, while lead actor Marco D’Amore was named Best Outstanding Actor in a Drama TV Series for his performance as Ciro di Marzio at the prestigious ceremony at the 55th Monte Carlo Television Festival. Fellow nominees in the Best International Drama TV Series included House of Cards, The Fall and Happy Valley, while Marco D’Amore’s fellow nominees in the Outstanding Actor in a Drama TV Series included Kevin Spacey (House of Cards) and Jonathan LaPaglia (Love Child).
Telling the inside story of fierce Neapolitan crime organisation the Camorra, as seen through the eyes of Ciro (Marco D’Amore), Gomorrah received widespread critical acclaim upon its UK debut on Sky Atlantic in 2014, with The Times declaring it “the most gripping drama on television” and The Sunday Telegraph calling it “a dazzling success”. The second series of Gomorrah is currently in production and slated to premiere on Sky in the UK, Italy, Germany and Austria in Spring 2016.
