Sky Cinema will offer exclusive coverage of The 89th Academy Awards® as part of unrivalled coverage of The Oscars® on TV and across digital media.
Launched today, dedicated channel Sky Cinema Oscars® will be the exclusive home of The Oscars in the UK and Ireland. The channel will provide full live coverage of The 89th Academy Awards, the biggest and glitziest night in the film calendar, as well as airing a wide range of Oscar-winning films over the next two weeks. Both The Academy Awards and the range of Oscar-winning movies will also be available through a NOW TV Cinema pass.
On Sunday 26 February from 11.30pm, presenter Alex Zane and guests including Heat's Boyd Hilton, journalist and film critic Anna Smith, and comedian, actor and broadcaster Sanjeev Bhaskar, will host a special preview show, Oscars 2017: Red Carpet Live, covering everything from the red carpet arrivals to award predictions. Live coverage of the awards ceremony itself will follow from 1.30am.
Across mobile and social media, Sky Cinema will also have the complete picture, providing the latest breaking news, previews of this year's contenders, and the key highlights following the ceremony on Monday morning.
Sky Cinema’s offering also includes over 100 Oscar-winning films in a bespoke collection On Demand, including 2016 winners The Revenant, Bridge of Spies, and more, as well as a host of all-time classics.
