Sky Movies bolsters Bond offering
Raft of Bond-related content for Sky Movies 007 HD including UK TV premiere of Barry Nelson’s Casino Royale (1954)
Sky Movies will supplement Sky Movies 007 HD, the channel dedicated to the full James Bond film catalogue, with a raft of original and acquired Bond-related programming. The programmes will be available from the launch of Sky Movies 007 HD on 5th October 2012, and will run across the service throughout the license period of the Bond franchise.
Marking the first time in UK history all the Bond films will be available to enjoy in one place, in HD, on demand and without ad breaks, Sky Movies 007 HD will also offer viewers the opportunity to go behind-the-scenes, onto the sets and hear from the cast and crew members who have made the franchise one of the biggest and best in British film history. The original movie trailers for all of the Bond films will also play within the channel’s advert breaks.
Alongside the twenty-two official Bond title from EON Productions and two non-EON titles Casino Royale (1967) and Never Say Never Again, Sky Movies 007 HD will broadcast the UK TV premiere of James Bond’s first screen appearance as portrayed by Barry Nelson in Casino Royale (1954).

Barry Nelson plays 007 in James Bond’s first screen appearance. Originally broadcast live on television, it remained lost in the archives for almost 30 years.
Iconic Moments (22x 5’)
Featuring footage from the most iconic scenes of each of the films and contributions from celebrity fans, cast members and Bond experts, this series of interstitials celebrates the greatest moments of each of the 22 Bond films. Bond fans will be encouraged to vote for their favourite of the Iconic Moments online at www.skymovies.com.
Skyfall on Set (1x 30’)
Sky Movies’ resident film expert Alex Zane joins the cast and crew on the Skyfall sets in iconic Pinewood Studios and on location in Istanbul for an exciting look behind the scenes of the explosive new instalment. This special report features interviews with Skyfall cast members Daniel Craig, Javier Bardem, Naomie Harris, Berenice Marlohe and Ola Rapace.
Bond Girls Are Forever (1x 60’)
A celebration of the elite club of women who have played the role of a Bond girl, this 60’ documentary sees Maryam d’Abo (The Living Daylights) interview fellow former Bond girls Halle Berry, Ursula Andress, Honor Blackman, Luciana Paluzzi, Jill St. John, Jane Seymour, Maud Adams, Lois Chiles, Carey Lowell, Michelle Yeoh, Dame Judi Dench, Samantha Bond, Rosamund Pike, Eva Green and Caterina Murino.
Now Pay Attention 007 (1x 30’)
Emotional documentary in memory of Bond legend Desmond Llewelyn, who played Q in 17 films from From Russia With Love in 1963 to The World Is Not Enough in 1999. Features interviews from a range of Llewelyn’s fellow cast members including Sean Connery and John Cleese.
The Bond Cocktail (1x 30’)
The Bond Cocktail breaks down the key components of the Bond films, exploring each of the following in detail: Bond Women, Villains, Locations, Stunts, Q, Music and Bond himself. Filmed on the set of The World Is Not Enough, the documentary features interviews with key cast members Pierce Brosnan, Robert Carlysle, Robbie Coltrane and Dame Judi Dench.
James Bond Down River (1x 30’)
Documentary taking viewers behind the scenes of Pierce Brosnan’s iconic Thames boat chase in The World Is Not Enough. Examining in technical detail the staging of this stunning sequence, James Bond Down River looks at the preparation, gadgets and stuntwork which went into creating and includes interviews with the cast and crew members involved in this scene.
Death In Venice (1x 30’)
Behind-the-scenes making-of documentary focussing on the filming of the iconic sinking house palazzo and the Venetian piazza chase in Casino Royale, featuring interviews with the film’s Director Martin Campbell, Visual Effects Supervisor Steven Begg and Oscar® winning Special Effects Supervisor Chris Corbould.
Bond On Location (1x 30’)
Behind-the-scenes making-of documentary on the James Bond movie with spent more time on location than any other previous Bond film; Quantum of Solace. Focuses on the many locations in the movie ranging from the Chilean desert to Austria, from Mexico to Panama and features interviews with Daniel Craig, Gemma Arterton and director Marc Foster.
Marking the first time in UK history all the Bond films will be available to enjoy in one place, in HD, on demand and without ad breaks, Sky Movies 007 HD launches on Friday 5th October.
Bond fans will have the films at their fingertips via Sky Movies’ comprehensive TV on-demand service Sky Anytime+, with all of the films also available on demand and on the move via Sky Go, Sky’s award-winning multiplatform TV service available across PC, Mac, laptop, iPhone, iPad and Android phones. In addition, Sky Movies customers can enjoy an enhanced user experience with the Sky Movies App, following recent updates to coincide with the launch of Sky Movies 007 HD. Featuring a Sky Movies 007 HD section showcasing all of the Bond films, galleries and trailers, the Sky Movies App has been updated to allow customers to stream content directly (rather than via a link to Sky Go), providing a seamless link to all of the Bonds, as well as the fantastic range of Sky Movies content.
In addition, customers who subscribe to Sky Movies via NOW TV, the brand new internet TV service from Sky, will also be able to enjoy the entire Bond catalogue. The twenty-third film in the franchise, Skyfall, will be available to rent through Sky Store and on Sky Movies in 2013.
