Monday 15 April, London: Sky News today announces its extensive coverage plans for the occasion of Baroness Thatcher’s funeral which will take place this Wednesday, 17th April, at St Paul’s Cathedral.

Anna Botting and Dermot Murnaghan will anchor Sky News’ main coverage of Baroness Thatcher’s funeral in a five hour special from 9am until 2pm, beginning with the funeral procession leaving the Palace of Westminster to the conclusion of the service at St Paul's Cathedral.

Coverage will begin at 6am with Eamonn Holmes presenting live from St Paul’s.  

Colin Brazier and Gillian Joseph will present from along the route, and Alastair Bruce, Sky News’ Royal, Religious and National Events Commentator, will be on hand throughout the day with expert commentary of the protocol of the occasion.

Coverage will be uninterrupted with ad breaks suspended between 10am and 12pm (approximately) during the procession and the service.  Lorna Dunkley will continue the coverage at 2pm, followed by Jeremy Thompson at 5pm from the live presentation point at St Paul’s.  

The Sky News teams will be reporting from positions across the capital and the UK throughout the day. Adam Boulton, Political Editor, will be presenting the view from Westminster, David Blevins, Ireland Correspondent, will be reporting live from Belfast and David Crabtree will be reporting from Thatcher's hometown of Grantham with further live coverage across the UK from Brixton, Glasgow and Downing Street.

There will be extensive coverage throughout the day online, with live blogs, highlights, image galleries, tweet stream and exclusive pieces from senior news correspondents monitoring the reaction from across the UK and from the crowds gathered at St Paul’s.

The iPad Sky News app will have uninterrupted live stream of coverage available on-the-go, including bespoke content from dedicated digital reporters with the crowds and full background including in-depth analysis of her key achievements and controversial policies, video highlights from archive of her best speeches and Commons performances, reaction from around the world, order of service, guest list, notable absences and more.

·         0600 – Sunrise with Eamonn Holmes presenting live from St Paul’s Cathedral  

·         0800 – Colin Brazier from Trafalgar Square and Gillian Joseph from St Clement Danes

·         0900 – 1400 – Dermot Murnaghan from St Paul’s and Anna Botting from Poets’ Corner in Westminster

·         1400 – 1700 – Lorna Dunkley from St Paul’s

·         1700 – 1900 – Jeremy Thompson from St Paul’s
