Sky News launches new bureau
Foreign moves for key Sky News Correspondents.
LONDON, Thursday 17th January: Sky News today announces the launch of a US West Coast bureau in Los Angeles. US correspondent Greg Milam, currently based in Washington DC, will relocate to LA to set up the new bureau. He will continue to contribute to the spread of stories across the US, delivering content for all of Sky News’ platforms.
Amanda Walker, formerly Russia Correspondent has taken on the role of US Correspondent, replacing Greg and joining Dominic Waghorn in Washington DC. 2012 saw Amanda covering the Russian Presidential election, the trial and imprisonment of punk band Pussy Riot and the flash floods which killed 150 people in the south of the country. Outside Russia Amanda reported on the Euros in Ukraine and Poland, Superstorm Sandy as it made landfall and most recently the US elections in Florida.
Sky’s Katie Stallard leaves her current role as Media and Technology Correspondent in London to take up the position of Russia Correspondent based in Moscow, reporting across Russia and the wider region. Katie is to be replaced by News Correspondent Niall Paterson.
Sarah Whitehead, Head of International News, Sky News commented “I’m excited at the prospect of having four correspondents covering the US, coast to coast. Having a presence on the West Coast will enable us to tell stories from across America with all time zones covered.”
Greg Milam moves to Los Angeles in February.
