Sky Rainforest Rescue - it’s an award-winning campaign!

This week Sky Rainforest Rescue was voted the best Consumer Marketing Campaign at the 2degrees Awards ceremony held at Wembley Stadium. The award celebrates the marketing and communications campaigns that have really made an impact. Winners were selected on the basis of votes from members of 2degrees, now one of the world’s leading networks for sustainable business with over 40,000 people signed up.

Bella Vuillermoz, Director of Sky Academy said "This Award is recognition, in amongst some tough competition, of just what we have achieved through Sky Rainforest Rescue over the past five years of our partnership with WWF. From Flintoff's Road to Nowhere on Sky1 to Lily Cole-designed trainers made from rubber from Acre, our project area, we’re leading the way with innovative marketing approaches that have inspired people to make one small change and help save the rainforest”.

Nicky Day, Head of Corporate Partnerships at WWF said “This award pays tribute to the we’ve done together raising awareness of the issue of deforestation here in the UK as well as helping saving one billion trees in the project area in the Amazon. Many more people know about the value of the rainforest and we hope they will continue to support Sky Rainforest Rescue over the next year.”

Sky Rainforest Rescue has now raised over £8m, and given thousands of people across the UK the opportunity to take part through our Discovery trails, wild rubber exhibit at the Eden Project, our initiatives in schools and online campaign where over 5,000 people have pledged to protect the Amazon
