STELLA will air in 2014 on Sky 1 HD with the Christmas special in December, 2014

(London, Thursday 9th May) – Tidy Productions have started production on the third series of the hit Sky 1 comedy drama STELLA, in Cardiff. Following the success of the first two series, STELLA has begun filming series three and life looks as eventful as ever as Patrick Baladi (Mistresses, The Office) is joining Ruth Jones in Pontyberry playing English lawyer, Michael Jackson.

Michael moves to the valleys and the house next door to Stella after an acrimonious divorce has caused him to have to down size his life. As he tries to adjust to valley life he soon becomes inextricably linked to Stella’s household.

Patrick Baladi commented on joining the cast: “Miss Jones is a brilliant writer of character, warmth and wit and I'm delighted to be part of the show. It's an honest, unique and a refreshingly rare bit of fun”.

David Peet, Series Producer, said: "We're over the moon that Patrick is joining the cast of Stella for series 3. Ruth and I are huge fans of his and we're hoping he finds a big warm welcome in the heart of Pontyberry."

When we left Pontyberry at the end of series two Stella had made the life changing decision not to go to Canada with Rob (Mark Lewis Jones). She also parted ways with Sean (Kenny Doughty) and he emigrated to Australia with his new love.  As the story picks up for series 3 will Stella have entirely given up on men? Or could new neighbour Michael become the new apple of her eye?

This series is the latest in Sky’s commitment to increase its investment in original British content by 50%. By 2014, Sky expects to invest £600 million a year in British programmes across its portfolio of channels.

STELLA also stars Steve Speirs, Di Botcher, Craig Gallivan, Catrin Stuart, Ben Morris, Zoe Stewart, Aled Pugh, Howell Evans, Karren Paullada, Pal Aron and Sudha Bhuchar. The new series will air on Sky 1 HD in 2014 along with a Christmas special.
