Supporting International Women’s Day 2013

International Women’s Day is a global event that takes place on 8 March. This year we’re showing our support both on and off screen through a range of programming and events for our staff. It's all part of meeting our commitment to increase diversity on screen and in our business.

Our multi-channel on-air support includes Sky 1 HD showing a run of female only Little Crackers each night this week, with episodes including Sheridan Smith, Kathy Burke, Jo Brand and Victoria Wood. On Friday 8 March there will also be a Stella two hour finale and an all-female episode of Got to Dance.

Sky Movies Showcase are also supporting by hosting an evening of films featuring strong, independent women including The Lady and The Help.

We are continuing the support off-screen by holding a series of events for staff. Anna Jones, Sky News Presenter, is hosting a panel discussion which will be filmed in front of an audience of 200 staff at our headquarters in Osterley and broadcast to staff across the UK and Ireland by live webcast. In our Leeds and Livingston offices, people will come together to watch the live broadcast, which will be followed by local workshops aimed at inspiring career progression for women.
