The Leftovers and The Knick come to Sky Atlantic this Autumn
Sky Atlantic is welcoming two new shows to its schedule this autumn with HBO’s highly anticipated THE LEFTOVERS and THE KNICK from Academy Award® winner Steven Soderbergh.
Three years after 2% of the world’s population abruptly disappeared withoutexplanation, THE LEFTOVERS - from Damon Lindelof (Emmy®winner for Lost) and acclaimed novelist Tom Perrotta (AcademyAward® nominee for Little Children, Election) - is the story of thepeople who didn’t make the cut.
Set in a small New York suburb, THE LEFTOVERS follows Justin Theroux (Mullholland Drive)as Kevin Garvey, a father of two and the chief of police,who is trying to maintain some semblance of normalcy when the notion nolonger applies. Additional series regulars include Amy Brenneman, Christopher Eccleston, Liv Tyler, Charlie Carver, Max Carver, Carrie Coon, Ann Dowd, Michael Gaston, Emily Meade, Annie Q, Margaret Qualley, Amanda Warren and Chris Zylka.
Following THE LEFTOVERS is THE KNICK which a 10 part seriesdirected by Academy Award® winner and Emmy® nominee Steven Soderbergh (Traffic, Side Effects, Behind the Candelabra).Set in downtown New York in 1900, THE KNICK centres onKnickerbocker Hospital and the ground-breaking surgeons, nurses and staff,who push the bounds of medicine in a time of astonishingly high mortalityrates and zero antibiotics.
At the centre of the Knickerboker Hospital is Dr John W Thatcher who isplayed by Academy Award® and Emmy® nominee Clive Owen (Children of Men, Hemingway & Gellhorn).Other cast also include Andre Holland, Eve Hewson, Jeremy Bobb, Juliet Rylance, Michael Angarano, Chris Sullivan, Cara Seymour, Eric Johnson, David Fierro, Maya Kazan, Grainger Hines and Leon Addison Brown.
THE LEFTOVERS AND THE KNICK form part of Sky AtlanticHD’s commissioning and acquisition strategy to bring the most compellingstories exclusively to Sky customers.
