The London 2012 Parade: Join the Party on Sky News HD

A day of live coverage on multiple platforms to celebrate London 2012

Simulcast on Sky 1 HD from 1pm

London, 3rd September 2012:  On Monday 10th September Sky News will be celebrating the success of the London Olympic and Paralympic Games as The London 2012 Parade travels through London, with a full day of live coverage across the capital.

The day’s celebration will begin on Sunrise from 6am and run right through to 9pm. Sky News will bring you live coverage in HD from the 21 floats assembling at the Guildhall in the morning, to the 800-strong athletes’ parade making the journey through the streets of London where vast crowds are expected, to the finale at Canada Gate where the public will enjoy performances and interviews with the athletes. Sky 1 HD will be taking Sky News coverage from 1pm through until 5pm.

Sky News Presenters – Adam Boulton, Lorna Dunkley, Gillian Joseph, Sarah Jane Mee, Dermot Murnaghan, Samantha Simmonds, and Jeremy Thompson - will be stationed at key points along the route, as well as on the floats with the athletes themselves. They will be mingling with the crowds as the nation celebrates the achievements of the athletes who featured in the Olympics and Paralympic Games.

Skynews.com, Sky News for iPad, Sky News mobile apps and Sky Go will be carrying live blogs from presenters and correspondents, helicopter pictures from the skies, and the best tweets and pictures of the day.

At 8pm there will be a special highlights programme featuring all the best pictures of the parade and celebrations, honouring the stars of London 2012.
