The simplest way yet to get superfast Sky Fibre Unlimited

Tuesday 3 December 2013

First of the four major ISPs to remove need to have fibre installed by an engineer

Sky has today unveiled its latest version of its Sky Hub. In stylish black, the new hub will offer customers the functionality and simplicity they need with the ability to self-install Sky Fibre Broadband, removing the need for an engineer visit to the home, whilst delivering impressive wireless range throughout the home.

The router, designed by Sky’s own engineering team, builds on the success of the Sky Hub that launched a year ago, and combines simplicity with industry leading features all in one neat box.

Super simple set up

The new Sky hub is easy to set up and gets customers online faster than ever. The hub is delivered straight to the customer’s home with everything they need to get connected, and none of the inconvenience of waiting at home for an engineer.

The WiFi Protected Setup (WPS) is easy to operate and means that securing a connection to a WPS enabled device is hassle-free. Want to connect up your Sky+HD box, laptop, smartphone or tablet? It’s all done at the press of the WPS button.

Sky Smart Signal

Sky’s new hub features the same Sky Smart Signal technology as its predecessor – which means it constantly scans for potential interference and automatically selects the wireless channel that will offer the most reliable connection possible.

Peace of mind

The new hub is Sky’s most environmentally-friendly router, automatically switching to low power mode when not in active use and combining two products into one and therefore saving money on energy bills.

Future-proof

Should any Sky Broadband customer decide they want to upgrade to Sky Fibre in the future, the new hub is fibre-ready. It contains all the technology required to simply and easily switch across if broadband requirements increase.

Lyssa McGowan, Director of Communications Products at Sky, comments:

“At Sky we are continually looking to improve the products we offer and the service we provide - and the new Sky Hub is testament to that.  With our unlimited broadband packages: Sky Broadband Unlimited and Sky Fibre Unlimited, market-leading customer service and state-of-the-art hub, there’s never been a better time to switch to Sky.”

Sky is the UK’s fastest growing ISP, offering totally unlimited DSL and fibre broadband. With no fair usage policies, Sky does not slow down speeds on its network and there are no data caps.  Sky Broadband Unlimited and Sky Fibre Unlimited customers also benefit from inclusive and unlimited Wi-Fi in over 20,000 hotspots via Sky WiFi. This means that customers are connected and uncapped not just in the home, but also on the go.

The hub, worth £69, will come as standard for all new Sky Broadband Unlimited and Sky Fibre Unlimited customers switching their broadband to Sky.
