Top 10 entertainment shows on Sky in August

Hi

It's that time I know everyone looks forward to so much - my update of the top 10 entertainment shows on Sky last month.

Building on our commitment to great home-grown TV, we tried to make August a cracking month for new and original British comedy. We welcomed back our old friends from supermarket chain Valco for the third series of Trollied, and back came  Charlie Brooker and Daniel Maier’s fantastically silly police spoof A Touch of Cloth II: Undercover Cloth for a second series.

One of the biggest highlights was the launch of our brand new sitcom Chickens, starring Simon Bird, Johnny Sweet and Joe Thomas.  More than a million viewers tuned into the launch episode during its first week. Even more excitingly, more than 10% of the total audience either watched the show via our award-winning online and mobile TV service Sky Go or downloaded it on demand to their Sky+ HD box.

Aside from comedy, Sky Atlantic HD’s US crime drama Ray Donovan, starring Jon Voight and Liev Shrieber, continues to be a big drawer. Like Chickens, it’s proving especially  popular with Sky customers on the move and on demand, with 100,000 watching on demand or through Sky Go – the capacity of Wembley Stadium and equating to around one sixth of the show’s total weekly audience.

We love bringing great TV to our customers - and it’s especially rewarding when we see them enjoying it on their own terms in such huge numbers.

Here's the full top ten.

I'll send another update next month.

Stuart
