DENNIS QUAID AND MICHAEL CHIKLIS STAR IN THE HIT US DRAMA

As part of its commitment to bringing customers the best in US programming, Sky Atlantic HD is today (15th January 2013) delighted to announce that VEGAS will launch in February (week 7). Created by Academy Award-nominated Nicholas Pileggi and Greg Walker, the drama is inspired by the true story of former Las Vegas Sheriff Ralph Lamb, a fourth-generation rancher tasked with bringing order to the city in the 1960s.  

Las Vegas is swelling with outsiders and corruption as the gambling and entertainment mecca is emerging from the tumbleweeds. Lamb (Dennis Quaid, Far From Heaven) is looking into the murder of a casino work and comes across Vincent Savino (Michael Chiklis, The Shield), a ruthless Chicago gangster who plans to make Vegas his own. The two become engaged in a fierce battle for control of the budding oasis and, for both, folding is not an option.

VEGAS also stars Jason O’Mara (Terra Nova) as Lamb’s brother, Jack, and Taylor Handley (The Texas Chainsaw Massacre: The Beginning) as his son, Dixon. Carrie-Anne Moss (The Matrix) plays the ambitious Assistant District Attorney, Katherine O’Connell. Sarah Jones (Alcatraz) joins the cast in the second episode as Mia Rizzo, count room manager at Savino’s casino and daughter of a Chicago mob boss.

The executive producers are Greg Walker (Without a Trace), Nicholas Pileggi (Goodfellas), Arthur Sarkissian (Rush Hour), Cathy Konrad (Walk the Line) and Academy Award-nominated writer/director James Mangold (Walk the Line). VEGAS is produced by CBS Television Studios and distributed globally by CBS Studios International.

VEGAS will launch in February on Sky Atlantic HD, Sky Atlantic + 1, on the move with Sky Go and On Demand.
