Chris Sutton joins Sky Sports’ Scottish Premiership coverage
-Former Celtic striker will join the Sky Sports team ahead of the 2023/24 season
-Sky Sports’ coverage of the cinch Premiership begins on Saturday 5th August with Celtic v Ross County and Kilmarnock v Rangers
Chris Sutton, the former Celtic striker, will join Sky Sports for the new cinch Premiership season. Known for his forthright opinions on the Scottish game, Sutton will join as a lead pundit alongside former Rangers star Kris Boyd as well as Eilidh Barbour and Ian Crocker.
With three league titles, three Scottish Cups and one Scottish League Cup to his name, as well as reaching the UEFA Cup final with the Celtic, Sutton will bring a wealth of football knowledge to Sky Sports viewers.
Chris Sutton said: “I can’t wait to join the Sky Sports team ahead of an exciting new cinch Premiership season. I’m sure Kris and I will have some good discussions throughout!”
Sky Sports’ Director of Football, Gary Hughes, added: “Chris is as sharp on the mic as he was in front of goal for Celtic. We look forward to him joining our coverage of the cinch Premiership, bringing his incredible experience and forthright opinions to our coverage.”
Sky Sports’ coverage of the cinch Premiership begins on Saturday 5th August with Celtic v Ross County which kicks off at 12:30 and is the first of up to 48 cinch Premiership matches to be shown this coming season.
In September last year, Sky Sports and the SPFL agreed a new four-year extension to the current deal. The renewal kicks in from the 2024/25 season and gives Sky Sports viewers up to 60 games exclusively live per season and will see Sky Sports broadcast live from each Premiership ground on up to five occasions every season, one more than the current deal.
From last season, Sky Sports also agreed to show live Scottish Women's Premier League (SWPL) action in addition to becoming the title sponsor of the SWPL League Cup.
