Unterföhring - July 1. Sky has today begun a new era of flexibility, choice and value for customers in Germany, as it completely refreshes and updates its approach to pricing and packaging.
The news follows last week’s launch of Sky’s major new content plan to shake-up TV in Germany. Sky will deliver the content plan through a combination of partnerships and development of its entertainment, movies and sports offering.
More flexibility
For the first time, Sky customers will now be able to choose between re-committing for another yearly subscription to lock in the best possible price, or they can enjoy maximum flexibility and move on to a monthly subscription, for a small surcharge. This also applies to existing customers, who can enjoy full flexibility after they have completed their existing contract and a new 12 month contract on the new package.
More value
From now on, customers will get Sky Q with Sky Go, brilliant HD and the full entertainment package, with the latest Sky Originals and best international shows from HBO, Showtime, Fox and TNT included from the very beginning at no extra charge - and all in brilliant HD picture quality.
More choice
In future, new and existing customers will be able to choose from a range of great packages and customers will not need to cancel to get the best available price:
Sky Q and Entertainment – always included: Exclusive shows from Sky and HBO, complete seasons and documentaries on demand at any time, all free-TV and Sky channels, apps and media libraries, Sky Go and HD.
Entertainment Plus - the ultimate package for box set fans: All shows from Sky and all content from Netflix included.
Cinema - a new film every day: Exclusive films available shortly after they are shown at the cinema, with a huge variety and choice across all genres and all screened without commercial breaks.

Sport - the best live sport: All the 2020/21 UEFA Champions League matches live in the conference and the majority of German individual matches live and exclusive, all DFB Cup matches live and all Premier League matches exclusive. Plus Formula 1, handball, tennis and golf live.
Kids – all the best entertainment for the little ones: A huge variety of shows for children with five popular children's channels and over 4,500 items of content on demand along with Kids Mode for a child-friendly environment. Download function for travel included.
UHD - for the best TV experience: Selected top events from the Bundesliga, UEFA Champions League and Premier League, all Formula 1 races and most qualifying sessions, as well as new top films and exclusive Sky Originals available in ultra high definition.
Devesh Raj, CEO of Sky Germany: “We said we were going to start a new era for TV in Germany and offer an unmatched TV experience – this is the next big step on that journey. We’re promising more flexibility, more value and more choice, all together with our new expanded content plan."
"With our new packages and pricing structure, we are making it easier and more convenient than ever for our customers to access all the content and apps they love, all in one place on the world’s best platform, Sky Q.”
In addition, Sky is making it easier than ever to choose fantastic program packages: Cinema, Bundesliga and Sport as well as Entertainment Plus including Netflix. The new Kids pack is now available with a huge choice of series for children, five popular children's channels and over 4,500 items of content on demand. And Sky Q is also easier than ever to expand: for fans of the best picture quality, the UHD option can be added, which includes more than 130 live sports events per year, as well as more than 150 movies and series’ highlights on demand. Those who want to watch Sky in every room at home can add the multiscreen option easily with just a few clicks and enjoy their Sky program on up to five devices.
