Sky confirms UK release dates for May December and Ferrari
Two of Sky Cinema’s most hotly anticipated films have been confirmed for release this year with Todd Haynes’ May December releasing in UK cinemas on 17 November and on Sky Cinema on 1 December and Michael Mann’s Ferrari releasing in UK cinemas on 26 December and on Sky Cinema next year.
Following its success at the Cannes Film Festival this year, May December follows married couple Gracie and Joe Atherton-Yoo (Julianne Moore and Charles Melton) whose 23-year age gap sparked a notorious tabloid romance that gripped the nation two decades ago. Cut to modern day, and their marriage comes under renewed strain when Hollywood actress Elizabeth Berry (Natalie Portman) comes to spend time with the family to better understand Gracie, who she will be playing in a film about the scandal.
Michael Mann’s latest feature Ferrari follows Adam Driver as Enzo Ferrari during the summer of 1957. Behind the spectacle and danger of Formula 1, ex-racer Enzo Ferrari is in crisis. Bankruptcy stalks the company he and his wife, Laura, built from nothing ten years earlier. Their volatile marriage is further fractured with grief for their only son. Ferrari struggles with the acknowledgement of another with Lina Lardi. His drivers’ passion to win pushes them to the edge. All their fates converge in one race, the treacherous 1,000-mile race across Italy, the iconic Mille Miglia. Alongside Driver, we will see Penelope Cruz as Laura Ferrari, Shailene Woodley as Lina Lardi, Patrick Dempsey as Piero Taruffi, Jack O’Connell as Peter Collins.
