Sky has launched a new Full Fibre 1.6 Gbps product, rolling out from today, giving millions more households across the UK access to faster, future-ready broadband for busy, connected homes. 

The new product is Sky Broadband’s fastest speed available to homes on the Openreach network, covering nearly four out of five (79%) UK homes, and offers speeds more than 20 times faster than Sky’s standard broadband. 

Expanding on its existing broadband range, Sky Broadband now offers customers even more choice of speeds, from everyday connectivity through to 5 Gbps Full Fibre, the UK’s fastest broadband speeds available to 14% of UK homes*, helping households find the package that best suits their needs. 

Full Fibre 1.6 Gbps is powered by Sky’s most advanced ever Gigafast+ hub, which uses tri-band WiFi 7 technology capable of delivering speeds twice as fast as Wi-Fi 6. Designed for increasingly connected homes, it helps deliver next-level performance with lower latency and less lag, whether working, streaming in 4K, gaming, video calling, or keeping multiple devices connected at once.

At launch, Full Fibre 1.6 Gbps is available to new Sky Broadband customers, including existing Sky TV, mobile and smart home customers, subject to availability**. Existing Sky Broadband customers will be able to upgrade at a later date. 

Eligible households can purchase Full Fibre 1.6 Gbps, which starts from £38 a month, through Sky’s call centres, and via sky.com/broadband. Customers purchasing Full Fibre 1.6 Gbps can have even more peace of mind with the Wi-Fi Max Guarantee*** – guaranteed speeds in every room or money back, available with the Wi-Fi Max add-on from £6 extra a month. 

Sky Broadband packages are available from 67 Mbps through to 5 Gbps subject to availability***, allowing customers to choose a speed and price that suits their household. Full Fibre packages start from £24 a month for 75 Mbps.
